HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Pardon the lack of posts here in my food blog but if you were also following my lifestyle blog, MISS LITRATISTA, you would probably have an idea what made me busy these past few days, weeks, and months. But now I'm back, I hope to devote more time for this blog this 2015 and still continue to bring you more stories about my gastronomic adventures. Crossing fingers!

But first, let me kick off the new year with, oh well, backlogs! I stumbled upon a number of drafts which I haven't started writing about so here I go, trying to share them one at a time.

So if there's one thing I wish you all for this year, it will be loads of sweetness in your life. And what better way to be sweet is no other than indulging in sweetness overload! Take a pick from any of these hyperglycemic delights from one of my favorite dessert places in Davao City, Dulce Vida by Tiny Kitchen Bakery + Resto, located at Tulip Drive Extension, Ecoland Subdivision, Matina.

OREO CHEESECAKE
MAJOR MAJOR CAKE
TIRAMISU CAKE
BRAZO DE MERCEDES (one of my favorites from Dulce Vida by Tiny Kitchen)
PILAR'S CARROT CAKE
TORTA CHOCOLATE
CHOCOLATE MOUSSE

Discovering a new branch of Tiny Kitchen within a few kilometers from my home base is like finding a pot of gold. I just find it inconvenient for me to travel more than 8-10 kilometers to their main branch at Torres St. just to satisfy my cravings for their sumptuous delights. But with this nearby branch, I can just easily put them cravings away in just one ride.

Another good news is, aside from just pastries and desserts, Dulce Vida Bakery + Resto also offers rice meals, pastas and other dishes which you can also find at their main branch.

ANGUS BEEF STEW
CHICKEN CASSEROLE
MARBELLA PASTA (SPAGHETTI)
HOUSE SALAD
DULCE VIDA CHICKEN SET

MARBELLA PASTA (PENNE)

The place can be a bit small and just perfect for couples and to a maximum groups of 4, but if you're coming in a number a bit more than that, then better proceed to their main branch instead. Another word of warning too, the place closes early so don't expect it to cap off your midnight cravings.

After getting our sunkissed skin and full tummies at Little Boracay Beach Resort, we headed back to Davao for the final pitstop for the 2nd day of our DFAT 2013 Adventure. Our 2nd day was capped off with delicious meals and desserts overload from no other than one of Davao's bests, Lachi's Sans Rival Atbp.

It was not my first time to get a taste of Lachi's. My sweet tooth dragged me to discover this place many years ago and I admit that I will never get enough of their delicious saccharine offerings. Over the years, from what used to be a very small restaurant, Lachi's has expanded their space as well as their offerings, which now include sumptuous meals to enjoy with their noteworthy desserts.

During the 2nd day of our DFAT 2013 adventure, Lachi's treated us to an amazing feast of their tasty meals and their desserts. I'll break down this post in 2 parts - one part will be their meals and the other part to highlight their desserts - because I don't want to be flooding too much pictures in just one post.

So for now, let's focus on the tasty and delicious meals that Lachi's Sans Rival Atbp is currently offering to their diners.

Hurray for another weekend! I'm glad that with my work, I'm able to spend the weekends lounging at home, just chilling, feeling lazy, doing thesis work if I'm feeling motivated, and at times, wandering around town. My schedule for the weekends usually depends on my boyfriend, since at times he is on a 24-hour duty and if I feel lazy to go out without him, I stay at home. But if my parents have other plans, then surely I'm not one to just bum around.

Let me share to you one weekend trip I had. This was actually last Saturday, when I'm still feeling sick and all. But since the BF wants to spend quality time, I compromised. LOL! This time, I gave him the autonomy to decide where to go. When the boyfriend blurted out that he wants to have dinner at Lachi's, all I can say was, "Yahoo, perfect!"

Lachi's Sans Rival Atbp. has been famous in Davao for creating and marketing delightful pastries and delicacies that will surely make a sweet tooth go crazy. I have been an avid fan of Lachi's and every time that  I'm in need of a remedy for my sweet tooth, this place is always the first to pop out of my mind. I'm happy to see that they have been improving, from what used to be a very small restaurant has now occupied a bigger space enough to accommodate hungry costumers. What I just don't like with Lachi's is that their location is not that easily accessible (for me) that I don't even know how to commute to reach the place. And if you're bringing a car, then the parking space is another problem. However, once you get to taste their food, then you'll surely brush these problems away.

Here's what we ordered:
